New Health Clinic Coming To Britt

McGuinty Government Helps Improve Access to Rural Health Care Services

A new nursing station in Britt will help improve access to health services and promote health and wellness in the community.

Funding provided by the Rural Economic Development Program will be used for architectural services, design and blueprints for the construction of the nursing station. The new facility will provide confidential consultation and training to health professionals, accommodate a growing population and allow nurses, physicians and other health professionals to participate in northern education programs. . 

The facility is being built in partnership with the Britt Area Nursing Services Committee, West Parry Sound Health Centre and the Britt Lions Club.

  • The project is receiving $25,000 through the Rural Economic Development Program, which invests in community-based projects in three priority areas:  revitalized communities and downtowns, enhanced skills training, and improved access to health care services.
  • Since 2003, Ontario has invested $77.5 million in 240 projects through the Rural Economic Development Program.
