Georgina Develops Plan For Economic Development

McGuinty Government Helping Retain and Create Jobs

NEWS

September 17, 2009

Georgina is revitalizing its economy by encouraging and supporting the growth of its local businesses.

Through the Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) initiative, funded in part by the Rural Economic Development Program, Ontario is helping the Town of Georgina to:

  • complete a business survey and create an economic action plan for the municipality
  • identify and respond to immediate individual business concerns
  • expand community engagement in local economic development.

BR+E is a community-based, volunteer-driven economic development tool that encourages growth and stability of local businesses. This development tool works to improve the competitiveness of local businesses by evaluating and addressing their needs and concerns.
