Revitalizing the Historic Wellesley Mill

McGuinty Government Helping Promote Local Foods and Renewable Energy

The Village of Wellesley is taking the first steps towards determining if the Wellesley Mill can be turned into a local organic foods hub, a centre for renewable energy innovations, and a training facility for green energy skills development.

Through the Rural Economic Development Program, Ontario is helping the Village of Wellesley to:

• plan for renovations of the historic mill in the centre of the village to become a zero  emissions demonstration facility
• create opportunities for local growers and consumers to do business
• offer tours to showcase sustainable developments
• establish a training facility in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector
• strengthen the local economy
• create opportunities for new jobs.
