website publication order form. They are part of a series of livestock
information books developed to assist farmers in understanding the implications
of the Nutrient Management Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation (o. Reg.)
267/03.

Pub 831- Case Study - A Mixed Farm Example: Your Livestock Operation
Under the Nutrient Management Act, 2002
The case study reviews the options for a farm operation keeping beef,
swine and sheep that is planning to construct a new solid manure storage
facility. It examines the issues that must be considered when completing
a nutrient management strategy and/or plan and provides some options for
meeting the requirements of the Act.

830 - Case Study - A Riding Stable Example: Your Livestock Operation Under
the Nutrient Management Act, 2002
The case study looks at riding stable that has decided to expand from
30 box-stalls to 80 box-stalls by building a new stable and manure storage.
It examines the issues that must be considered when completing a nutrient
management strategy and/or plan and provides some options for meeting
the requirements of the Act.

the Nutrient Management Act, 2002
The case study follows a producer who is planning to build a new layer
barn for 24,400 layers on a 40 ha property. It examines the issues that
a farmer needs to bear in mind when completing a nutrient management strategy
and/or plan and provides some options for their consideration.

The case study follows a cow-calf producer who is expanding from 75 head
to 160 head. It examines the issues that a farmer needs to bear in mind

some options for their consideration.

The case study looks at a small horse breeding farm that has decided
to expand from 4 horses to 10 horses. It examines the issues that the

and/or plan and provides some options for their consideration.

The case study follows a beef feedlot operation that is planning to
expand from 500 heifers to 700 head. It examines the issues that a farmer

plan and provides some options for their consideration.
